11 Tongues
Distribution giant Brown-Forman (Jack Daniels, Finlandia Vodka, Fetzer and Bolla wines, among much else), was undertaking its first large-scale stateside launch of a South African wine. Our session put us face to face with a new South Africa, entirely modern, completely mysterious and free at last. The name 11 Tongues emerged during the two days; it references the 11 languages that are now legal in South Africa (only 2 during apartheid), and the packaging design plays on wine’s universally sensual characteristics.
