East Village
East Village is Calgary’s most unloved neighbourhood, 49 neglected acres near the riverfront in the heart of downtown. The rich potential of the community, along with the municipal will to forge a future for EV, gave rise to several place branding workshops with teams of planners, engineers, architects and other experts to design and describe the experience of a revitalized area. The results of the rich input was the publication of a Brand Landscape in the form of a city magazine called EVE, East Village Experience, which communicated the sense of place in the East Village of 2020. Resonance was recognized in 2010 by the Economic Developers Association of Canada with five gold medal marketing awards for our work to brand and market the development.
